Our story

Raki, the spirit of Crete

In Crete, raki — also called tsikoudia — is more than a drink. It is how a guest is welcomed, how a deal is sealed and how every good evening ends. It is distilled from the grape pomace left after the wine harvest, slowly, in a copper still over the fire.

At TZOROS, in the wine village of Dafnes, we have been distilling raki since 2010. Part of it rests in oak barrels, which give it a soft golden colour and a rounder taste — during your visit you will taste both.

Come as guests, leave as friends: that is Cretan hospitality.
